    SAUVIGNON BLANC

    Enticing bright, fresh aromas of mixed citrus, pineapple and green apple are complemented by subtle, yet classic, grassy notes to yield an unmistakable Sauvignon Blanc nose. On the palate, we have vibrant citrus and tropical flavors alongside perfectly balanced acidity, yielding both a refreshing, easy-drinking quality as well as amazing versatility at the table with food.

     

    100% cold stainless steel fermentation with no malolactic fermentation to preserve varietal character. A small portion spent time on the lees to build richness and texture.

    Complex aromas of orchard fruit and citrus marry with refreshing flavors of crisp apple,pear and a hint of peach. The palate is rich and wonderfully balanced with underlying acidity and subtle toasty notes for a sustained finish.

     

    A kiss of french oak and partial barrel fermentation with a portion of the wine aged in the barrel on lees and 50% malolactic fermentation.

    PINOT NOIR

     

    SONOMA COUNTY

    CALIFORNIA

     

    This wine impresses right away with its deep, dense, brooding fruit and dark, attractive color. This vintage we have a particularly complex melangé of both red and dark fruits, along with notes of baking spice and subtle toasty oak. The palate does not disappoint with dark fruit flavors of bing cherry and black raspberry leading to a rich, round texture and pleasant, long finish. This wine is a versatile pairing for a variety of dishes.

     

    Fermentation takes place in traditional open top tanks with gentle punch downs as well as closed top tanks where careful pumping over helps create more fruit flavors and aromas. The wine is then aged in a combination of tank and barrel on light lees for up to 10 months with occasional stirring to bring out richness.

    RED BLEND

     

    NORTH COAST

    CALIFORNIA

     

    Our 2013 Steelhead Red is a statement to the art of blending and our belief that "the sum is greater than its parts". On the nose, ripe dark cherry, plum, and blackberry aromas are accented by the slightest kiss of toasty oak and complex earthy notes. Once the wine gets some air and opens up, a solid core of fresh fruit is also clearly evident. On the palate, the wine is rich, round, and pleasant from beginning to end. Balanced acid and very fine tannins provide just a touch of youthful grip in the long, lingering aftertaste.

     

    Classic old world and new world winemaking techniques were utilized with fermentation in open and closed tanks. Lots were individually fermented to add unique characteristics to the blend. The wine is then aged for 12 months in a combination of new and used French oak barrels.
